My Testimony - Katherine Lopez

Kay Marie Ink was born from a gentle but persistent nudge from God. What started as quiet moments sharing the wisdom of Proverbs with my teenage son and his friends soon became something much bigger than I ever imagined. God placed it on my heart to share Proverbs in a way that felt real, relatable, and practical for teens today, same as I had done at home while helping my son navigate life’s challenges.
At first, I struggled. For months, I wrestled with doubt and insecurity, questioning whether I was worthy or capable of creating a book for teenagers. I felt unqualified and hesitant, unsure if my voice truly mattered, after all these were my own personal notes about Proverbs. But God met me in that uncertainty. Through prayer and surrender, He led me to create ABCs of Wisdom, not as a work of perfection, but as a reminder that when I place my trust in Him, He will guide my steps and show me the way.
Raised on the fundamental nuggets of wisdom found in Proverbs, instilled by my grandparents mostly, I’ve always known their power. Those truths shaped my childhood and, even when I strayed from the path more than once, the loving correction, the rod, of my parents, family, and friends always helped steer me back. Those experiences humbled me and deepened my faith, reminding me that wisdom is not about never falling, but about learning, growing, and returning to God.
As a former teacher, I understand the importance of instilling strong values early. Wisdom is a cornerstone of a meaningful life, and I believe it should be planted in young hearts early, then nurtured through the teen years, and reinforced for parents walking alongside them. That belief is at the heart of Kay Marie Ink.
Through my books, my prayer is to inspire children, teens, and parents to embrace wise living, avoid the pitfalls of foolish choices, grow closer to God, and lead lives filled with purpose and impact. Kay Marie Ink is my “yes” to God, my testimony that He can use anyone who is willing, imperfect, and trusting Him one step at a time.
If God could use me, a single mom, doubting, imperfect, and unsure as a vessel, He can use you too. Whatever He has placed on your heart is not an accident. Have faith, trust His timing, and take the step He’s asking of you. When you surrender your plans to Him, He will guide you, equip you, and make a way where you don’t yet see one. Your obedience may be the very thing God uses to bless others.
